Hi lovelies,
So I completely forgot to review this for you even after testing it out a couple of months ago. This was actually a Christmas present from a family member

The Maxi Reloaded Monster Mattes palette is available to purchase from the Makeup Revolution website (see here) as well as from Beauty Bay (here), Boots (here) and Superdrug (here). It retails for £15 and is cruelty free and vegan. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £35 with Revolution Beauty and on orders over £25 with Beauty Bay and Boots. Superdrug offer free shipping as standard although you can also shop in store.

The packaging is pretty standard though it feels fairly cheap. I don’t mind when you consider the price and it is perfectly adequate. There’s a plastic, clear cover case that really shows off the shade range and contains all product information including the ingredients.
This is a 45 pan palette featuring a full variety of rainbow hues but only has matte shadows. The shade range is pretty amazing containing almost every colour and several shades of them too. You can pretty much see the gradient blends at a glance.

When doing the swatches, the shadows felt a little bit chalky but didn’t crumble when on the fingertip. They swiped fairly smoothly but some didn’t lay evenly. Some of the lighter and pastel shades required a couple of layers to show up. From the swatches, it seems like some shades are more pigmented than others.

So if you want sparkle, this is not the palette for you as it literally contains nothing but matte shadows. Unfortunately, the shadows aren’t the most pigmented despite the product description. Even the darkest shades need to be packed on for that colour. Thankfully the shadows can be built up in layers without any patchiness which gives the shades a bit more body. They are perfect if you want subtle eye makeup. All the shades are easy to blend and last several hours on the lid before creasing.

I’ve not had any major issues with this palette. There’s a small amount of kickback in the pan for pretty much every shade but only one or two produced fallout under the eye. Even then, it was minimal and easily wiped away. Although I haven’t tried the red shades on my eyes, I’m fairly certain that they will create some staining to the skin after swatching them.

Overall, I’m not hating the Maxi Reloaded Monster Mattes palette from Makeup Revolution. It has a place within my collection which will mostly be for blending out bolder shades from other palettes but it has a place nevertheless. The shadows aren’t the most pigmented but they are buildable and easy to blend.
