It seems like I might finally be finished stocking up the skincare portion of my pro kit. But we’ll see……

The packaging is what you expect from The Ordinary-sleek, simple, functional. The outer box contains all product information including the ingredients list and directions of use. The serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper applicator which I love as it makes it much more hygienic for clients. It also makes it easier to control the amount dispensed so you don’t use too much.
According to the product description, this is a water-based formula that is suitable for all skin types and made for combating skin dryness. It contains various hyaluronic acid molecules including a HA crosspolymer that provides hydration across multiple skin levels for long term hydration as well as targeting the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains pro-vitamin B5 for added hydration to the outer layers of skin resulting in a plumper, smoother appearance.
The serum itself is easy to apply and feels soothing to the skin but it’s a little thicker than I imagined. I thought it would be more watery but it has a medium viscosity that feels slightly tacky when applied. It can take a few minutes to be fully absorbed into the skin but once gone it leaves your skin feeling so soft. I’ve been using anywhere from 1-3 drops depending on how dry my skin is so you don’t need to use much.
So I’ve been testing this out for about 6 months now and I have to say I’m really starting to notice the differences now. In particular, since I started using it with the Niacinamide serum, also from The Ordinary. Not only is my skin is looking and feeling more hydrated, it’s also smoother and softer with a natural glow. With long term use, it’s clear my skin barrier is much stronger as I have less issues on the surface as well as retaining moisture. I find it perfect for pre-makeup skincare as it stops your skin drying out throughout the day. Out of all the items in my kit, the hyaluronic acid is the one clients ask me about the most as they love how it makes their skin feel.
Overall, I am so happy with my purchase of the hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary. For the price you can’t really go wrong. I love that there are different sizes available for all your needs and the packaging keeps things safe and hygienic. The dropper also give you more control over dispensing so you only use what you need. It leaves your skin hydrated and softer after a single use with long term use resulting in smoother, clearer skin that retains moisture. My clients are absolutely loving it.
