Hi lovelies,
It’s that time of the year again…the Makeup Revolution Halloween collaboration is here and this year they’re working with IT.

The IT X Revolution You’ll Float Too palette is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as from Superdrug (here). It retails for £19.99. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £35 with Revolution and on orders over £25 with Superdrug. I ordered directly from Revolution and it landed at my door within 3 days.

The packaging is pretty awesome though potentially slightly awkward. The outer box is open fronted which can make it a little awkward to get the palette back in but I like that you can see it in the box. I absolutely love the design of the palette, it’s such a unique shape that is perfect for this collaboration. I also love the extra details such as the writing and metallic blood drips. All product information including the ingredients can be found on the back of both the palette and box.

This is an 18 pan palette featuring 14 matte and 4 shimmer shadows. The shade range is an interesting one. All the shades fully represent the 2 films but they’re not totally cohesive as a whole colour palette. The pans are a little on the smaller side but they are big enough for all eyeshadow brushes.

Naturally I had to swatch the shades before doing anything else and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. All are soft and creamy but some seemed more pigmented than others and swiped much easier. One or two of the lighter shades did need a couple of layers to build up the colour. The shimmers look amazing but the shade Worst Dream was pressed a little hard and I struggled to get a decent swatch from it.

On the eye, the shadows aren’t the most pigmented shades out there but they’re certainly not the worst. Unfortunately, a lot of On the plus, all the shades can be layered and that vibrancy built up without any patchiness. They are all easy to blend and for the most part work well together but some of the oranges are too similar to use together. The shimmers look amazing, full of pigment and shine and last for hours without creasing.

There is some kickback in the pan for most of the shades including the shimmers but only the shimmers have fallout under the eye. The red based shadows did stain my eye slightly but it was gone within a day and barely noticeable. I didn’t have any other issues with this palette.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the You’ll Float Too palette from the IT x Revolution collaboration. For an affordable palette, it’s great. The shadows are fairly pigmented, easy to blend and buildable. The shimmers are stunning offering a lot of sparkle and they last for hours without creasing.
