I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone. January has just flown by for us. I actually found this company on Tiktok through one of their swatching videos and honestly everything looked fire.
The Kaima Cosmetics holographic liquid glitter eyeshadow is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as through their Etsy store (here). They retail for £12-£14 each and you get 4ml of product. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £50 and free worldwide shipping on orders over £70 from the company website. I’m not sure what shipping from Etsy would cost but my order was here within a week.
The packaging is quite minimalist but it completely suits the brand and highlights what is important to them. The outer box has matte black background with holographic text and all product information can be found around the edges. The eyeshadow container is giving lip gloss vibes, made of hard plastic and designed to look like cut crystal. The shade name can be found on a sticker on the bottom and there’s a doe foot applicator attached to the screw cap.
According to the description, these are long lasting and waterproof multichrome glitter liquid eyeshadows. They are infused with holographic hues that shift in the light and offer pigment in one swipe. The formula dries within 2 minutes and becomes smudge free. The liquid shadows are available in 11 shades and all are cruelty free and vegan.
I’m always a little bit dubious about liquid eyeshadows lasting on my eyes so I only picked up one shade. Green. I don’t know why but I always love a green shimmer. Of course I had to swatch it and I was really surprised at how opaque the formula is. I’m not entirely sure what I expected but it wasn’t this. It’s not lying when it says pigment in one swipe. The formula is smooth and silky with a nice consistency that is completely controllable.
On the eye, the shadow looks like liquid multi-chrome metal. Honestly it is gorgeous. There’s such a good distribution of pigments and reflective particles in there that it remains looking wet even when it has dried down. Although it’s hard to capture, there is a beautiful shift in the colour that changes with the light and angle of viewing. This one goes from a mint green to a soft shimmery pink…may even be more of a lilac. Either way it’s stunning.
The formula dries down within a couple of minutes and feels quite comfortable to wear. It doesn’t feel hugely tightening on the lid if you only use a small amount and honestly you only need a small amount. For the most part, it is smudge free and long lasting but if you apply it too thick it can feel a little tacky and ultimately will crease. Best advice is to apply it from a palette in a thin layer rather than the doe foot applicator.
Overall, I am so happy with the holographic liquid glitter eyeshadow from Kaima Cosmetics. The packaging is cute and completely fits with everything the brand represents. The product itself is gorgeous and totally beyond anything I expected. There’s so much pigment and shine it’s unreal with a stunning shift in colour. It looks just like liquid metal.
