Revolution Skincare Pink Clay Detoxifying Face Mask Review

Hi lovelies,

It doesn’t feel like I touch on skincare very often these days….time to rectify it.

The Revolution Skincare pink clay mask is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as from Beauty Bay (here), Boots (here) and Amazon (here). The mask is available in 2 sizes: a 50ml that retails for £8 and a 100ml retailing for £14. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £35 with Revolution and on orders over £25 with Beauty Bay and Boots.

The packaging is actually really nice sporting a more sophisticated design than you’d usually see from Revolution Beauty. The outer box has a rose gold and white marble design and features all product information including the ingredients. The mask comes in a glass jar that is surprisingly heavy for this brand and feels quite secure. There’s an additional cover inside to further protect your face mask.

According to the online description, this is a mild clay that detoxes and clears the skin. It draws impurities from the skin helping to clear congested pores and absorbs oil for a healthier complexion. It contains witch hazel and seaweed extract to help moisturise and soothe problematic areas. Directions of use state to apply a thin layer and leave on for 10-15mins before rinsing.

The first thing I noticed was the scent. I’m sure some of the scent comes from the natural ingredients but there’s also added perfume which I’m not a fan of personally. It does dissipate pretty quickly. The formula has a nice consistency, not too thin that it goes everywhere but also not too thick making it hard to spread. The mask is pretty easy to apply but I wish it came with an applicator of some sort. It went on so much easier with one and wastes less product. When applied, the mask feels quite cool and soothing at first but it can start to tingle after a minute or so because of the witch hazel. Thankfully it’s only slightly uncomfortable and it goes away pretty quickly though it may not be the best if you have sensitive skin.

Once on, the mask starts to dry almost immediately. The thinner the layer, the quicker it dries. It does tighten the skin slightly as it dries but it’s not uncomfortable. It also washes off fairly easily but you may want to use a face cloth. I have to say it did draw a lot of impurities out of my skin after one use. Some areas cleared up while other issues came to the surface. After repeated use these areas have also cleared up and no others have popped up (pun intended). My skin has been looking and feeling amazing since.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Revolution Skincare pink clay mask. I mean you can’t go wrong with pink clay can you and this is no exception. I definitely see improvements in my skin since I started using it. Less blackheads and under the surface spots. For the price I really can’t complain about anything.
