Glow Hub Pore Polish Facial Exfoliator Review

After the madness of recent weeks, I’m back on a skincare kick and I’m basically taking you along for the ride.

The Pore Polish Facial Exfoliator is available to purchase from the Glow Hub Beauty website (see here), Beauty Bay (here), Boots (here) and BPerfect (here). It retails for £10 and you get 120ml of products. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £25 with Glow Hub, Beauty Bay and Boots and on orders over £35 with BPerfect.

The packaging is fairly simple but I don’t really have an issue with that as long as it’s functional. There’s an outer box with a matte finish that contains all product information including the ingredients list and directions of use and a standard tube of product. The lid clasps into place easily and doesn’t look to leak. The exfoliator is also easy to get out of the tube.

According to the product description, this is a chemical and physical facial exfoliator that gently scrubs away dirt and impurities to leave you with soft, glowing skin. It contains walnut shell powder and salicylic acid to provide that deep exfoliation and grapefruit extract to help brighten the skin.

Oh where to start with this one. There’s so much good and yet so much bad all in one little tube. Ok let’s start with the smell. Not good. I will say it does smell very natural and unperfumed but yeah not great. I also expected the formula to be a bit rougher considering it contains walnut shell but it’s actually quite gentle.

Now here’s where the problem is. For me it’s just too damn greasy. At first I thought it was because I used wayyy too much but nope. Even using a pea sized amount leaves you repelling water like there’s no tomorrow. It’s not good. Literally had to re-cleanse after the cleanse and exfoliate. It’s such a shame because it did leave my skin looking and feeling amazing. My skin looked brighter with clearer pores and left it feeling soft. Breakouts have lessened too with regular use.

Overall, it’s definitely a mixed bag from the Glow Hub Pore Polish Facial Exfoliator but it does what it says on the box. It definitely leaves you with cleaner, softer skin with less visible pores and a reduction in breakouts. However, I don’t need my exfoliant to leave me with greasy, water repelling skin.
