Made by Mitchell Truth Tint Skin Tint Review

Hi lovelies,

We’re trying something new…Since Mitchell has a habit of creating good complexion products, we thought we’d give the sheer skin tint a go.

The Made by Mitchell Truth Tint is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well from their Tiktok shop (here) and Beauty Bay (here). It retails for £16 and it contains 50ml of product. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £25 while Made by Mitchell calculates at checkout.

The packaging is what you expect with a skin tint. It comes in a plastic bottle with a screw cap and an open nozzle to dispense. Nothing flash nothing fancy. The bottle does have an outer box that has all product information including the shade and the ingredients. The tint comes out of the bottle easily and does tend to slightly explode out if you shake it too hard so be warned.

According to the product description, this is a sheer skin tint designed to smooth and blur the skin while leaving it with a dewy finish. It has an extremely hydrating but light formula that is perfect for the summer months. The truth tint is available in 20 shades which isn’t the best but there are shades for most skin tones available. As Made by Mitchell are a pretty inclusive brand I’m fairly sure more shades will be included.

Now, if you’re here from Tiktok (or a long time reader), you’ll know that we’re not really into lightweight, skin tints here. We do full coverage, full drag, British 2016 makeup and we have no plans on budging any time soon. However, in saying that it’s always worth to try something new plus I trust Mitchell and it was on sale so we’ll try not to be harsh.

The formula is very thin and without much pigment which is what you would expect from a skin tint. As described, this is definitely a sheer coverage tint. It covers enough to blur and smooth the appearance of the skin but it doesn’t really cover discolouration and blemishes. It’s not meant to though so I can’t really complain. However, I will complain (albeit slightly) at the greasiness of the tint. It’s not heavy or cloying on the skin but I wasn’t overly happy with how it felt.

On a better note, it looks and wears well on the skin. For me personally, I didn’t like it unset firstly because of the feeling and secondly I found it too shiny because of the greasiness. When set, even with matte powder, that radiant glow cam through perfectly leaving a really gorgeous finish to the skin. Unfortunately, setting it didn’t negate the oily feeling. But the tint applied easily and didn’t settle into any fine lines when set. It works with other product, both cream and powder while being lightweight on the skin.

Overall, despite not being our thing, I don’t dislike the Made by Mitchell Truth Tint. Will I be reaching for it again personally, no. Will I be adding it to my pro kit, yeah probably. It’s a lightweight, blurring, dewy finish tint that is perfect for the summer. It works well with other products and doesn’t move when set.
