Hi lovelies,
You know we can’t get enough of Made of Mitchell here so we figured we’d try another one of their products.

The Bolt Balm concealer is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as from their Tiktok shop (here)* and Beauty Bay (here). They retail for £14 and you get 9g of product. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £25 with Beauty Bay and I’m not sure with Made by Mitchell. I think shipping is calculated at checkout.

The packaging is kind of standard for a cream concealer but with the Made by Mitchell brand standards. The metallic outer box has all product information on there including the shade and ingredients. The concealer comes in a shallow pot with a soft touch screw cap bearing the brands M. The pot is a good size for storing in a kit but is wide enough to get your brushes in.

According to the online description, this is a cream concealer that has been created to work seamlessly with the Truth Tint. This is a solid to gloss formula that will boost skin radiance to leave you with a natural, dewy finish. It has medium coverage but is buildable that smooths and blends effortlessly. This is available in 20 shades and impressively offers an 8 shade range for black skin. See this is why I love Made by Mitchell – it’s not 20 shades of white.

So, since I have my own personal bias with “natural” makeup (I personally, do not like it on me), I thought it best to test this as recommended with the Truth Tint. I did try it with other brands of skin tint too don’t worry and it’s actually a really nice product. It’s a cream formula that feels a little thicker than the truth tint but becomes slick and glossy with body heat. It melts onto the skin so easily and blends into skin tints seamlessly. It’s a little less seamless with foundations but that’s mostly down to the radiance of the balm. She’s glowy.

The Bolt Balm is certainly a medium coverage concealer that can be layered up if you need more coverage. Much like the truth tint and curve case, this leaves you with natural dewy finish to the skin and is pretty flawless really. It smooths and covers without highlighting any texture although if left unset it will settle into any fine lines. This was clearly meant to be set with powder as it retains a lot of it’s radiance after.

Overall, I’m happy with the Made by Mitchell Bolt Balm concealer but unfortunately, it’s not something that I will be using on myself. Purely personal preference but it will most definitely have a home within my pro kit. It’s a good concealer if you love the “no makeup” makeup look. It covers, it corrects, it leaves you looking flawless with a natural glow, you don’t need much and it’s long lasting when set. Really what’s not to love if you’re into it.
