P.Louise Cosmetics I’m So Jelly Makeup Remover Review

Hi lovelies,

Long time no speak eh? Can you believe it’s been a full year since our last post? I know right. A lot has happened since then. We’ve had a busy year with makeup, stationary, designing and work plus a facist installed in the white house… quick PSA if you support any of that shit, get the fuck outta here. But anywho, as the schedule is still pretty packed we’re aiming for fortnightly posts rather than weekly.

Today we are talking about the P.Lousie I’m So Jelly Makeup Remover that I bought as part of a skincare bundle (see here*). You can also purchase this on it’s own for £8 and is available in 15 scents (here*). You qualify for free UK shipping when you spend over £45 with standard shipping costing £3. My items usually arrive within 5 days although during sales it can take a few days longer.

So the packaging. I got mine a while ago and I think they’ve since changed the shape of the container slightly. Now it looks more like an inkwell rather than the straight pot I have. Also mine didn’t come with an outer box. I assume this is because I bought the bundle rather than the individual item but it does come with an outer box. All packaging is designed to look like the scent inside and the colour of the jelly seems to correlate as well.

According to the product description, this is a jelly to oil makeup remover that transforms into a rich cream upon contact with the skin to dissolve even waterproof makeup. They contain a variety of ingredients to help gently cleanse, care for, repair and protect your skin without any greasiness. It’s also been dermatologically tested making it safe for sensitive skin. Now this is not something I would usually buy for myself-I’m dubious but it came in a bundle and seems a waste to not try it.

Now, I have already made a first impression review on my socials and there’s one thing that I’ve actually changed my mind on when trying it again. Initially, I felt that the formula turned quite dry once on the skin rather than that creamy description. Just use a little bit more guys…I promise. Use too little and it does feel dry, use the right amount and it feels creamy and so much easier to use. So yeah I do take that one back. Another thing I mentioned in the video review was that I was worried about skin irritation for this particular scent. Pineapple can be one of those where reactions occur without people even realising and it is quite strong in scent. So yeah be careful with that one but I’m sure the rest (and even this one) is absolutely fine for sensitive skin.

I’m actually kind of impressed after using it a few times. At first, I really didn’t like it due to that dryness however it does what it claims it can do. It removes a full face of makeup (waterproof and full coverage) gently without being over greasy in nature. The only thing it really left behind were a few reflective particles from the glitter eyeshadow but considering how much I’d put on, that’s hardly a surprise. It left my skin felling soft and looking deceptively good as it gave my skin a hydrated shine. I say deceptively as I know for a fact that my skin is currently dry as a desert and struggling with the winter. I will say though that repeated use of this has helped my skin a lot and this has been the only change to my routine. It’s less dry and areas feel less irritated than usual. It’s perfect for the first of a double cleanse routine but you don’t actually need to cleanse again as the jelly remover leaves no residue on the skin.

Overall, I’m surprised to say that I have changed my mind on the I’m So Jelly makeup remover from P.Louise. I’m still not 100% sure that I like this particular scent but I am tempted to try another one due to the change of heart. We’ll see as I’ve fallen out of love with this brand in recent years. But it’s a good product that performs as it promises.
