New Haircare featuring Philip Kingsley

Hi lovelies,

I’ve got something completely new for you this week. I don’t really discuss hair and skin care but this is all about to change…well not too much. Once I find good products I tend to stick with them.

About 6 months ago, I tried some sample products from Philip Kingsley (not gifted but in my subscription boxes) and I fell in love with a couple of the products. To the point that I switched up my entire hair products. You can purchase these and others at the Philip Kingsley website (see here).

The first product that I went for was the Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo. I have always had a really itchy and flaky scalp and it’s definitely worse when I colour my hair. This is described as a gentle and soothing formula that has been designed for daily use on the scalp. It doesn’t dry out the hair or strip it of any colouring.

I have tried so many anti-dandruff shampoos and nothing has ever worked so I was dubious about this one. However, this one worked wonders and I didn’t even notice until my sample ran out and I started itching and snowing again. The price is pretty painful at £24.50 for 250mls. Thankfully you can buy 3 different sizes so you can test the 75mls for only £11.50. Still expensive, I know, so I tend to use this one sparingly only on the scalp and use a regular shampoo on the ends of my hair. Oh, I nearly forgot. You can pick up this shampoo from Look Fantastic using credits gained through Glossybox to save some money.

The second product that I tried and ended up buying was the Body Building Conditioner. suitable for fine hair. I have very fly-away hair with very little body so body building conditioner sounded like a good plan. This is described on the website as an ultra-lightweight conditioner that add body by thickening each strand. It also makes your hair look smoother and glossier whilst providing de-tangling.

Now then, I’m not sure if my hair appears thicker after 6 months use but it definitely looks more sleek and shiney with a lot more bounce. Before use, my hair was quite lank so it does seem to add something. My hair is also easier to brush and my split ends a lot more tame since using this. Again the price is pretty painful with a price of £22.50 for 250mls and there are only 2 sizes; this or a larger one. Unfortunately there’s no getting around this one although you don’t need to use much to get a decent result.

Overall, I am really happy with how my hair has been looking these past few months. It’s not lank, greasy or itchy and there is no sign of my dandruff. My hair can still be difficult to keep under control but even so I think this change has been a success.

Thanks for reading. I hope you have enjoyed this review and that you will join me for more in the future. Don’t forget to hit the like button or add a comment, you could even subscribe if you loved it. Below are some before and after images from use of these products.
