Coco Cosmetics by Chloe Marshmallow Sponge Review

Hi lovelies,

I did another thing over on Tiktok shop

The Coco Cosmetics by Chloe Marshmallow set of 4 sponges can be purchased from the company website (see here) and their Tiktok shop (here)* as well as from Beauty Bay (here) and Sephora UK (here). The pack of four retails for £24.95 but you can buy them individually for £9. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £55 with Beauty Bay and on orders over £20 with Sephora.

The packaging is really cute for this set although it nothing special. The four sponges come in a card tube that is sturdy enough to protect your sponges during transit. The lid fits tightly as well so it won’t be coming off at any point without effort.

According to the product description, the Marshmallow sponge is a must have and a game changer. I’d like to point out that there are 2 shapes available-shape 2 is what you see in this pack and shape 1 is more of a standard beauty sponge. Made from extra soft material, this sponge is shaped to contribute to the most flawless base you’ll ever achieve. It expands 3 times in size when wet and makes application quick and seamless. They are best used for foundation and all over face powders.

dry sponge
damp sponge

The very first thing you’ll notice about the Marshmallow sponges is the texture. They are really soft and squishy, possibly the softest beauty sponges I’ve tried. They’re gorgeous. You do need to take care with them as they can become misshapen or damaged easily due to the material being so soft. They literally bounce on the skin. Now, I hate to say this, but I’m not a huge fan of the shape. I found it a little awkward getting to some areas with it, mostly around the eyes and nose but this is purely personal preference. I think the standard shape is more suited for my face shape.

Application wise, however, they are amazing. They didn’t lie on the packaging that’s for sure. The sponges double in size at least when wet feeling bouncier then ever on the skin. I don’t really use sponges for application as they tend to soak up product so I mostly use them for blending base products. When damp, the Marshmallow sponges don’t soak up too much but I still prefer them for blending as they can apply the foundation too sheer. Again personal preference as no matter what these sponges will leave you with a smooth and flawless finish to the skin. Products don’t become patchy on the skin either when using these sponges for application. They are great dry for powders too leaving you with an untextured base.

Overall, I have to say I’m happy with this purchase from Coco Cosmetics by Chloe but I wish I had have got the other sponge shape. These are some of the softest sponges I’ve felt so I will certainly be buying more and they work well to give you a smooth, flawless base. They can be used damp for liquid applications and dry for powders to finish our perfect base.
