Hi lovelies,
So I finally caved in and bought the Made by Mitchell Curve Case that you’ve probably seen all over Tiktok. Honestly, I’ve been pretty dubious about this since I saw the formula online as I’m an oily skinned queen that loves a full matte base.

The Curve Case is available to purchase from the Made by Mitchell website as well as through their Tiktok shop (here*). They are available in 3 variants (light, medium and dark) with each retailing for £30. I often find that shipping is much cheaper the Tiktok than the website and you’re order will arrive within a couple of days.

The packaging is very on brand for Made by Mitchell and is pretty much the same as the colour cases. The outer box has a split colour design: half is the traditional neon green of the brand and the other half is a good representation of the colours inside. I love that this colouring is used for the text on both the box and the case itself. All product information can be found on the back of the box. The case feels well made of hard plastic with a very tight fitting lid that ain’t going anywhere. The pans are a big enough size for your face brushes and all shade names can be found on the back.

According to the product description, you can achieve the no-makeup makeup look easily with the curve case. They feature a luscious, dewy cream base formula that melts seamlessly into the skin to give you a radiant and flawless complexion. Each one has 4 contouring and bronzing shades as well as 4 blush shades to give you all your sunkissed, colour needs. I love the mix of warm and cool tones too.

When doing the swatches, I was surprised by the formula. Even though I expected a balm like texture, I didn’t think it would feel wet. It’s so buttery it almost melts with skin warmth and you barely need any pressure to get enough to do your face. I hardly touched them to create a smooth and even swatch. All of the shades are highly pigmented and those warm tones are so rich.

On the face, the curve case is fricking amazing. All of them blend out so easily-I think it took me all of 2 minutes to apply and blend my contour, bronzer and blush. The description says that they melt seamlessly into the skin and they do. It’s pretty incredible really, I’ve not come across a product like it. They produce a soft, subtle colour that leaves you with a radiant glow to the skin. If you want more vibrancy, they can be built up without any issues. There is some slight tackiness after initial application but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin.

As there’s no clear directions of use for the curve case, I decided to test it every which way to see the differences. I have to admit, if you’re a fully matte queen like me, this may not be the best product for you. When set with powder, it loses most of the glow and the colours become quite muted. Essentially it’s not awful, you just don’t get the best out of it. You can use it very carefully over a set base, to keep that radiant glow. I say carefully as too much can cause some product lifting and patchiness. But yeah, best left unset.

Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the Curve Case from Made by Mitchell. I had some doubts about the product being good for me personally but even for us oil skinned babes it’s actually great. Despite being a creamy balm, it’s not sticky, greasy or heavy on the skin. The shades blend like a frigging dream, almost melting into the skin to leave you with subtle colour and a radiant glow.
