PS…My Perfect Colour (Primark) Illuminating Foundation Review

It seems we’re all about a radiant glow here these days with yet another illuminating product.

The PS…My Perfect Colour Illuminating Foundation is available to purchase from most Primark stores. It retails for £6 and you get 30ml of product. Unfortunately you can only buy this in store but thankfully more Primark’s seem to be cropping up everywhere.

The packaging, like all Primark Beauty makeup, is the industry standard and relatively basic. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser that contains all product information including the ingredients. Everything feels well made and secure with a tight fitting cap too. The pump dispenses the foundation well though you may need to use several pumps.

The PS… Illuminating Foundation is available in 16 shades although I’ve never seen all of them in one place. I grabbed the shade Vanilla and it’s a pretty good match. According to the online description, this will blend seamlessly into the skin leaving you with a luminous finish to the skin. Of course I had to swatch it and hardly surprising it does oxidise quite a bit. It does lighten with a touch of powder but it may be worth buying a shade lighter due to this.

On the face, I am actually frigging impressed with this foundation. Although it is quite thick and offers full coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and applies easily. It leaves you with a natural soft and radiant glow to the skin that doesn’t highlight skin texture. It lasts for hours before it starts to break down and even then its only around the eyes, nose and mouth. It works well with other cream products and when set with powder doesn’t move for hours. I’ve tried more expensive foundations that have looked worse than this.

Overall, I’m really surprised at how good the Illuminating Foundation from Primark Beauty. There’s nothing special about the packaging but it is well made and secure. The foundation itself is quite thick giving full coverage but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It blends into the skin easily and works well with other products without lifting. Once set with powder, it lasts for hours before starting to break down in the usual areas.
