Beauty Bay Celestial Charms Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi lovelies,

Can you believe it’s already December…sorry about the unintentional break last week. Work got a little bit crazy due to Wicked.

The Beauty Bay Celestial Charms palette is available from the company website (here) and through their Tiktok shop (here). It retails for £16 and you qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £16. Now over the coming weeks, it may take a little longer for your haul to arrive but it shouldn’t take longer than a week.

The packaging is slightly different than other palettes due to this being part of the christmas collection. The outer box and palette are coloured purple with gold accents to match the shades inside. Both also contain all product information including the ingredients list. As always, there’s a few layers of bubble wrap inside the box to protect the palette during transit. The lid is held closed using a magnet and there’s a good sized mirror inside the lid.

This is a 20 pan palette featuring an even split of finished with 10 matte and 10 shimmer shades. The colour story gives us the colours of the cosmos: purples, teals and golds.

When doing the swatches, all of the shadows felt soft to touch and swiped fairly easily. Some do go further than others but they are all packed with pigment. The shimmers look absolutely stunning, each of them sparkles like crazy. There is one that is more matte with a touch of sparkle but even that adds some subtle sparkle.

On the eye, the shadows are gorgeous. For the most part the mattes are easy to blend but a few of those darker purples need some extra work. They do lose some vibrancy during blending however they can be built up without any patchiness which is often difficult with purple. I do wish there were more variations with those purples though as they look pretty similar once applied. The shimmers really are the stand outs of this palette. They are pigmented, look amazing and are also easy to blend. They work perfectly with the matte shades.

Thankfully there aren’t too many issues with this palette and all of them were kind of expected anyway. The shimmers don’t last that long before creasing although some cope better than others it’s no more than 2 hours. There’s kickback in the pan for most of the shadows but only the shimmers had fallout under the eye and even then it was minimal. The pink and the majority of purple shades so stain the skin slightly but it doesn’t last long.

Overall, I’m fairly happy with the Celestial Charms palette from Beauty Bay. I wish there was greater variation with the purples but when you use them in the right combinations you can make them work. They are highly pigmented yet easy to blend and the shimmers add gorgeous shine, even if they do crease kinda quick.
