Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Blue Blood Bundle Review

Hi lovelies,

So, this lipstick bundle is one I’ve had my eye on since the Blue Blood launch. I finally splurged and bought the set mostly so I have Drug Lord and Titanic in my collection.

You can purchase the mini blue blood bundle from the Beauty Bay website (see here) or from the JSC website (see here). The bundle retails for £45 ($52) but I managed to get this in the sale for £35. You get 8 mini lipsticks for this price. As with all JSC products, these lipsticks are vegan and 100% cruelty free as well as been paraben and gluten free.

The bundle comes in a beautiful outer box featuring the Jeffree Star Cosmetics logo. The inside of the lid is embossed with lots of them too. The lipsticks are inset in a cardboard holder securing them during delivery. The shade names are also written underneath the lipsticks which I love.

Each mini lipstick contains 0.07 fl.oz or 1.93ml of product. They may seem a little small when compared with the full size lipsticks which contain 0.19fl.oz or 5.6ml of product. However, you are getting good value as 8 full size lippies would be alot of money especially for the shades you may not wear often. Not only are they great for travel but perfect for sampling shades.

As I mentioned above you get 8 shades in this bundle. 2 of the shades (Ice Tray and Titanic) are exclusive to this bundle but the rest are available to buy full size. It was actually Titanic that attracted me to this bundle. As well as these shades, you also get Drug Lord, Jawbreaker, Blue Velvet, Abused, Diamond and Medusa.

For me, the shade range is great. It goes from the bright white shade to a deep navy blue with a few bright blues and a slate grey. They all work perfectly together as a set. Some are too pale for me to wear on the lips however as they are eye safe, I will definitely be using these as eyeliner.

When swatching these on arm, all the formulas felt the right consistency and glided on. The shades Ice Tray and Diamond did look a little patchy at first but this went with an extra layer.

On the lips, the lipsticks perform as well as the other velour liquid lipsticks. The applicator and formula make them easy to apply. They dry down fairly quickly but don’t dry your lips too much. They also last on the lips for a long time. If you have dry lips, be sure to use a lip scrub beforehand as the lippies can highlight dry areas.

Blue Velvet and Ice Tray

I finally had the guts to try out the velour lipstick on my waterline. Naturally I got it pretty wrong the first time and got it in my eye. It didn’t sting too bad and was easy to get out without ruining my makeup. Once I got the hang of it, it’s the best white eyeliner I can find.

Shade Drug Lord

Overall, I am so happy I purchased this bundle. I love the shade range and they perform so well. Not too drying but last for hours. Although some shades are too pale for the lips, they are perfect as eyeliner.
