Morphe X Jeffree Star Artistry Palette Review

Hi lovelies,

How are you all coping with lockdown? We’re not doing bad here, we just play with makeup and write about it. Not a bad way to stay sane. We finally purchased a morphe palette and you know it had to be the JS collab.

You can grab this palette from the Morphe website (see here) or if you’re in the UK you can grab it at Boots (see here). I purchased this from Morphe as they had a sale on and I saved some good pennies. The palette retails for £35 and shipping from Morphe was £5. Due to the current situation and the sale it did take a week to arrive but I’m cool with that.

The palette comes in a bright pink, outer box with Morphe X Jeffree Star on the front. All product information is on the back along with a note from Jeffree and a gorgeous image. There is a double layer of bubble wrap inside the box to protect the palette during transit. The palette has the same design as the box but without the information.

The palette contains 30 shades; 18 mattes, 11 shimmers and 1 glitter. The shade range falls across the entire rainbow making it a very appealing palette to me. The shade names are 100% typical of a JS palette and I love them.

When swatching on the arm, all of the mattes felt smooth and silky. A few of the lighter shades did need a second swipe to build the pigment. The shimmers felt a little gritty to touch but when swiped were really smooth and silky.

On the eye, the shadows have amazing pigment but are pretty easy to blend. Some of the shades lose a bit of vibrancy when blending but the shades are buildable to bring that brightness back. The red based shades (pink, purple etc) do stain the lid but this doesn’t last for long. The shimmers perform but with some you do have to pack them on.

There is some kickback in the pan for most of the matte shades but particularly the darker shades. There was very little fallout under the eye, the worst been the purple shade Mogul.

Overall, I am really happy with my purchase from Morphe. The price is good for the quality you are getting and the formula works well. All of the shadows have good pigment even the lighter shades while been easy to blend out. There is no patchiness with the shades but you can lose some vibrancy during blending. As this shadows are buildable this is easy to rectify.

Thanks for reading. I hope you will join us for more in the future. Do you have this palette…send us your looks and product images for a feature. Don’t forget to hit that like or add a comment. Maybe even follow if you loved it. Below are some images of the palette in use.
