Revolution Skincare Daily Acid Peeling Solution for Oily Skin Review

Hi lovelies,

If you’re a regular here you’ll know my biggest complaint. If you’re not…my skin is oily AF. I finally decided to see if I could reduce the amount of oil being produced.

You can pick this up from the Revolution Beauty website (see here) and it retails for £10. You get ml of product in the bottle which is plenty. This is part of a full range of acid peels from Revolution Skincare for all skin types and needs. There is a gentle, daily use formula and an intense weekly formula available for all. I grabbed the daily use just because I need it. All of the peels are cruelty free and vegan.

The packaging is pretty sleek for Makeup Revolution. The outer box has a very minimalist style though the colours are different for each skin type which I really love. The chemical solution is clearly marked on the front and all the ingredients list is on the back. I wish there was more directions of use as I’ve never used a chemical peel before. The peel comes in a bottle and is dispensed with an eye-dropper.

The Daily Acid Peel solution for oily skin contains 1% Salicylic Acid and 1% Azelaic Acid Salt to achieve multiple goals. Salicyclic acid is a BHA that is used to exfoliate the skin. As BHAs are oil soluable, they are perfect for deep cleaning pores on those with oily complexions. The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of BHAs make them perfect for acne prone skin. BHAs make your skin more vulnerable to the sun so wear SPF. The Azelaic acid salt helps to improve skin clarity and texture, evens skin tone and regulates sebum production. It even helps to reduce past scars and other blemishes.

Doing some research into these two acids and how they work, led me to leave this solution on to work overnight but I’m not 100% sure this is the right way to use it. The solution is quite thin and is distributed evenly by the dropper. It’s easy to move around the skin and it is absorbed fairly quickly without leaving a film. For some reason the formula contains something glittery which is left on the surface of the skin even after washing. The solution is still smooth though and didn’t scratch my skin when applying. This is fragrance free so it has that natural skincare smell but it’s unnoticble when on the skin.

Before started regular use

I’ve been using this on and off for months now though I don’t use it everyday. I find using it every other day is enough for me with the rest of my skincare routine. I noticed a big difference after about a week of regular use. It’s really helped minimise oil production and my skin doesn’t look as greasy for it. With that comes less break-outs, black heads etc. My skin glows rather than shines with oil and has a more even tone. I haven’t noticed a reduction of texture and my pores are still pretty visible. My skin does feel softer though.

After regular use over 3 months

I haven’t had any issues when using this. No irritation, redness or dryness. There was an initial tingle when I first apply it but it’s not uncomfortable and only lasts a few seconds. Please remember I dont have sensitive skin and be sure to always do a patch test before using on your face. Any irritation or other issues stop using and seek medical assistance.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Daily Acid Peeling Solution from Revolution Skincare. I’ve actually found something that works for my oily complexion. My skin is feeling softer and has a more even tone. It is also controlling oil production so my skin is less greasy and has more glow. You get a good amount of product that should easily lasts 3 months even when using daily. I still have half a bottle left.
