Lottie London Shadow Swatch The Rusts Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi lovelies,

Since the last Lottie London palette just didn’t work for my skin tone (that’s honestly an amazing thing to say for a white girl); I figured I’d try out a different palette.

The only place I can currently find that stocks this palette is on Amazon (see here*). The price is the palette is fair but the delivery is a bit high on this listing. There are also a couple of sellers on Ebay offering good prices (see here). I paid £7.98 from Look Fantastic in the sale with free shipping. Look Fantastic shipping does arrive pretty quickly if they ever restock it.

The packaging is simple and sturdy. It may be a little on the cheaper but it does its job perfectly. The product name can be found on the front and all product information including the ingredients list on the back. Even the shade colours and names are on the back. There’s a strong clasp to keep the lid closed. The pan sizes are a good size for your brushes even though they look thin. There’s a double ended brush included with the palette but I don’t use it to be honest.

This is a 12 pan swatch palette with a mix of matte and shimmer shades. There are 5 mattes to 7 shimmers which I love for a neutral palette. Shimmers can really change an eyeshadow look. There’s also a good mix of blending tones for both types of shadows although you’ll get little versatility fromthe matte shades.

When doing the swatches, the shadows felt soft and buttery. Unlike the other palette, I only needed one layer to get these colours even for the lightest shades. The shimmers are so pretty and have good pigment under the shine.

On the eye, the shadows are fairly pigmented although you do lose some pigment during blending. Thankfully, they are buildable with no patchiness. They are easy to blend and work well together. Although the tones worked well on my skin tone, I’m not sure how well the mattes would show on darker complexions. The shimmers will show up on anyone I’m sure. They have good pigment, shine and sparkle and work well with the mattes. The lightest shimmer even works well as a highlighter.

The shadows last for hours without creasing even on the lid. I haven’t had any issues when using this palette. No staining or irritation but I don’t have sensitive skin. I had no problems removing them with micellar water.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this swatch palette from Lottie London. The packaging although not overly expensive is sturdy and well made. The shadows are pretty pigmented and work well together. They are easy to blend and build and the shimmers shine brightly.
