Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick Review

Hi lovelies,

I’m still working through products received in past subscription boxes that I feel deserve a full review and here’s another one. You know its rare for us to review Huda Beauty

The Power Bullet Matte lipsticks from Huda are available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as from Cult Beauty and Boots. They retail for £22 each and you get 3g of product. You get free UK delivery when you spend over £48 with Huda and £20 with Cult. Having never bought from Huda I’m unsure of delivery experience so if you have, let us know in the comments. Shipping from Cult is quite quick and will land at your door within a few days.

I’m actually in love with the packaging. Although I don’t particularly like the plastic unit carton, the component itself is sleek with a soft touch finish. What I love most is the gradient colouring which matches the shade inside. The cap clicks tightly into place so it won’t be coming off in your makeup bag and it’s engraved with the company name (another sleek touch). Despite its chunky, square base the component is comfortable to hold.

I believe there are 24 shades available as part of 3 collections. The shade range is quite neutral with a few brighter and darker shades of pink and brown. Looking at the swatches online, I’m fairly certain there’s a shade to compliment every skin tone. I was sent the shade Wedding Day which is a cool toned soft caramelized pink. Not one that I would usually go for but it is gorgeous. According to the product description online, the lipsticks should be highly pigmented with full coverage, long lasting wear. The formula should be silky smooth that glides on without dragging leaving you with a matte finish.

The formula is highly pigmented, creamy and long lasting. It leaves you with a matte finish that is lightweight and doesn’t dry your lips out too much. One thing that stood out to me immediately was the shape of the lipstick. It has a really defined pointed tip with a large flat surface area. The website says this is a custom tip specifically for lining the lips before filling them in. This shape actually works though. Compared to other bullet lipsticks it is easy to line your lips with this one and it doesn’t bleed into the surrounding skin.

Overall, I am over the moon with this lipstick from Huda and kinda want more of them if I’m honest. Absolutely love the packaging; it’s sleek and comfortable to hold. There is a good shade range that should suit all skin tones. The formula is creamy, easy to apply and long lasting leaving you with good colour payoff and a matte finish.
