Wet n Wild Color Icon Walking on Eggshells Palette Review

Hi lovelies,

Another item that I picked up during Black Friday though you really don’t need to wait for a sale as it’s definitely in the affordable range.

The Walking on Eggshells Color Icon palette from Wet ‘n’ Wild is available from Beauty Bay (here) as well as from Boots (here). It retails for £4.29 full price

The packaging is fairly standard though there’s no added frills. The case is plastic and on the cheaper side which is hardly surprising considering the retail price. However, it is well made and sturdy for traveling though it is small enough to fit into a handbag. The company and palette names can be found on the front and all product information including the ingredients on the back.

This is a 5 pan palette containing 2 mattes and 3 shimmers. This has a light neutral shade range making it perfect for simple day looks though the shimmers allow for some versatility for night looks. I kind of wish there was another matte transition shade for added range but you don’t really need it. The pan are a good size too.

When doing the swatches, all the shades aside from the middle one felt soft. The middle felt a little hard like it had been overpressed. Although quite pigmented the two lightest shades did need a couple of layers to really show up. The shimmers are stunning and swiped so smoothly.

On the eye, the shadows perform well. They’re easy to apply and quite pigmented. They are easy to blend and although they do loose some pigment when blending they are easily built up again. The shimmers are more subtle on the eye than I thought they would be though I found better pigment when applied with a finger.

There is some kickback in the pan for the mattes shades but only the darkest shade produced fallout under the eye. There was very little kickback in the pan for the shimmers although they did have a fair amount of fallout. The shimmers last a couple of hours on the lid before creasing. Other than that I’ve not had any other issues when using this palette.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with this palette from Wet N Wild. Although the packaging is on the cheaper side it is well made and sturdy. It’s the perfect size for traveling and offers a day to night look with the shade range. The 5 shades work well together and are pigmented while being easy to blend.
