Ya know, I’ve never tried any of Beauty Bay’s lip products and since I needed some new lipsticks, I figured the time was perfect to do so.
The Beauty Bay Road Trip Collection contains 4 matte lipsticks and is available exclusively from Beauty Bay (see here). The 4 shades are available to purchase individually or as this set but the cost is the same if you want them all. This collection retails for £28 or £7 each. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £25 and it will be delivered within a few days.
As with most Beauty Bay products, the packaging has a minimalist design. The set comes in a matte black box with a satin black design and white text. All product information can be found on the box. The lipsticks themselves come in the industry standard tubes, coloured white and have the same design as the box but in silver. The cap fits securely and the rolling mechanism is smooth. The shade names can be found on the bottom of each tube.
According to the website description, these have a highly pigmented and ultra-creamy matte formula that is long-lasting and comfortable to wear. The four shades are Smile (light brown nude), Sunset (pink, orange toned nude), Gelato (a warm, medium golden coral) and Bikini (warm apricot peach). The shades are perfect for summer day outings.
The four lipsticks are really creamy making for a smooth and even application. The shape of the lipsticks are perfect for achieving precise lines. The shades are fairly pale in colour making them perfect for day wear but they are highly pigmented. You only need one layer for solid colour. They are comfortable and lightweight to wear. The matte finish makes them dry down a little but not enough to dry your lips. Once dry, there’s very little product transfer and they last several hours.
Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the Road Trip Lipstick Collection from Beauty Bay. I’ve not really got any complaints about them to be honest. The packaging is minimalistic and sleek but nothing revolutionary. The lipsticks perform as described online which is rare. They are creamy, pigmented, lightweight and long lasting. Not bad for bullet lipsticks.
