Hi lovelies,
Back with another travel size mini that of course, is from the Boots Beauty Box. Perfect as I really can’t afford Laura Mercier. So this mini can be bought.
The Rouge Essential Silky Creme Lipsticks come in 32 shades and 2 sizes though it seems the travel mini is only available in 1 shade. The mini retails for £14 and the full size for £28.50. Unfortunately, Laura Mercier do not ship direct to the UK so we’ve got to use other distributors. You can pick up these lipsticks from Boots (mini/full size); LookFantastic (mini/full size) and ASOS (here). You qualify for free UK delivery on orders over £25 from Boots and LookFantastic and on orders over £35 from ASOS.

I absolutely adore the packaging. I know I think all mini items are the cutest but this comes in a high gloss, metallic case that mimics the full size product. It’s pretty sleek despite being square and is the perfect size for popping into a handbag. The cap snaps tightly into place so it won’t be coming off in your bag. The rolling mechanism is really smooth however once up the lipstick doesn’t feel very secure. It kind of wobbles when you apply pressure. I hope it’s only the travel mini that does this as it’s so small.

According to the product description, this lipstick has a silky satin creme formula that aims to deliver intense colour. They are infused with Mediterranean sea algae extract to smooth and moisturise the skin to create the perfect starting base. The lipstick bullet is custom designed to deliver maximum colour in one swipe. It should feel weightless to wear and lasts up to 6 hours without feathering, bleeding, fading, drying or settling into lines.

So I was sent the shade Rouge Ultime which is a classic red. I’ve got to admit, it’s not really my colour particularly since it’s bright red. However, the formula itself is absolutely gorgeous. Its creamy and applies smoothly delivering amazing colour in one swipe. The shape of the lipstick allows for a precise, clean application. It’s so lightweight it’s easy to forget your wearing it though it does transfer a fair amount. There’s minimal bleeding even after a few hours of wear and the colour intensity lasts a while too. It doesn’t dry your lips out either.

Overall, despite the colour I’m pretty impressed with the Rouge Essential Silky Creme lipstick from Laura Mercier. Not sure I’m £28.50 happy as this does seem ridiculously expensive for a lipstick. Saying that though. The packaging is sleek and sophisticated though not quite as a sturdy inside as I would like. Be careful when applying pressure to it. The lipstick itself is great. Smooth and creamy, it applies in one swipe with maximum colour. The custom shape allows for clean, precise application and it doesn’t bleed or feather for hours.

But I had one question in my mind Laura Mercier Rouge Essential Silky Creme Lipstick is made from natural ingreadient or chemicals are used?

Im not sure to be honest. Looking at the ingredients I don’t think it’s 100% natural. One is definitely named as synthetic and there’s nothing mentioning its free from sulphates, parabens etc.
