Hi lovelies,
Naturally I’m still on a budget so things are still a little focused on affordability.
It looks like Barry M released 2 different Glitter Cream palettes and naturally the one I have (number 2) is the one I can only find listed out of stock on Amazon (see here) or as part of a value bag (here). The Glitter Cream palette 1 is available to purchase from the Barry M website (see here) as well as from Boots (here) and also Amazon (here). It retails for £5.99 and is cruelty free and vegan.

Unfortunately, as this is one of Barry M’s older releases, the packaging is the industry standard hard, plastic case. I do commend the company for their eco-friendly packaging for new releases. However this one is fairly basic with a clear cover and black text. All product information including the ingredients can be found on the back of the palette. It’s a great size and weight for travelling and the lid clasps tightly into place keeping everything secure.

This is a 6 pan palette containing a mix of pigmented shades. It is a versatile palette that makes adding sparkle to the eyes, face and body easy. There’s no need for primer or glue to help them stick. I love the shades chosen as they will compliment most makeup looks. The pans are a good size allowing face brushes plenty of room.

When doing the swatches, the glitters felt smooth and creamy. I thought they’d feel quite abrasive since the glitter particles are so large but that’s not the case. They don’t spread too well though-definitely needed a pan redip halfway through the swatch. I love the multi-coloured sparkles in a couple of the shades. They add an extra dimension to the glitters.

On the eye and body, the creams work well and look gorgeous. On the eye, I’d definitely recommend wearing it as a topper over a shimmer shadow. The shimmer just adds an extra dimension behind the larger glitter particles. Being a glitter cream there are some spaces between the particles and the shimmer helps solidify the colour. On the face and body this sits well alone and over a full face of makeup. Again, a highlighter/shimmer shade will add an extra pop but you really don’t need too on the body.
My only issue with this is that the glitter creams don’t really set so on the eyes they tend to crease quickly. When packed on they are also easy to smudge. On the face and body this isn’t so much of an issue but not the best on the eyes. I’ve not had any staining or irritation when using these creams and found them pretty easy to remove.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Glitter Cream 2 palette from Barry M Cosmetics. The packaging is simple but sturdy and perfect for travel. For a glitter palette, it’s easy to use, versatile and comfortable to wear. It looks amazing when used on the face and body. Not as great on the eyes due to gaps in the particles and it creases easily but they still look good with some shimmer shadow behind them.
