BirchBox UK January Subscription Review

Hi lovelies,

Another Birchbox review for you. I’m sorry my posts are a bit hectic again. Currently in the process of moving house 😊. This month was a pretty special month as it marked my 6 month subscription to Birchbox. This meant an extra gift in the form of a holographic makeup bag and extra discounts in the Birchbox store.

As always, the subscription was paid on the first of the month. My delivery confirmation email came on the 8th with the box arriving a few days later. Not the usual quick service but as it was new year this is a rarity.

This month we got our 5 products plus an extra gift of a set of hair bobbles. It seems as though this months box has a rejuvenation theme. Following the holidays, this would make sense.

The first product for me to try was the Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Anti-Dandruff shampoo. This was sample size but the 250ml bottle retails for £24. I have noticed a huge improvement with my dandruff since I started using this so I may need to buy more.

The second product in my box was the AfterSpa Facial Scrubber. Retailing at £6 this isn’t one I’ll be purchasing. It does exfoliate the skin but it was too rough for me.

The third product that I tried was the Dr Botanicals Cleansing Bar. I ended up with the Coco and Coconut Superfood reviving and exfoliating. Retailing at £5.90 for a 100g bar, this doesn’t do anything that my current cleanser and exfoliator doesn’t do.

The penultimate product in this months box was the Doucce Maxlash Volumising mascara. Personally for me the applicator is way too big for my little eyes. It’s hard to tell what the formula is like due to the applicator but it did seem clumpy. RRP for this mascara is £18, hardly seems worth it.

The final product was the CLĒ Cosmetics Essence Moonlighter Cushion in the shade Copper Rose. Love the packaging on this one and the shade is gorgeous but I can’t wear this as highlighter. It’s way too dark for me. At £22, I may have to try out other shades as the formula is amazing.

Overall, I am reasonably happy with the products in this months BirchBox. I really love the shampoo and the highlighter. The makeup bag is also pretty cool and useful.

Thanks for reading. I hope you have enjoyed reading and that you will join me for more in the future. Don’t forget, if you want to subscribe to BirchBox UK use my refer a friend link by clicking here. It won’t cost you anything but may save us some pennies.
