BPerfect x mmmMitchell Sub Zero Highligher Palette Review

Hi lovelies,

I’ve finally invested in my FIRST highlighter palette (the peppermint frost doesn’t count) and it’s one I’ve been eyeing up since its release. Mitchell is the king of highlight on Instagram (see here) and I’m excited to see this formula.

You can grab this palette from the BPerfect website (here) or from the Beauty Bay site (here). This retails for £24.99 but I snagged mine in a deal for £10 from the company site. I am so impressed with the delivery from BPerfect as it landed in 2 days. It was well protected for transit and arrived safe and sound.

The packaging is amazing although simple. There’s no outer carton with this palette and I don’t have an issue with that choice. My collection of cartons is ridiculous at this stage so I’m glad I don’t have another. The palette is sealed shut with a sticker so it won’t open during delivery. The sticker peeled off really easy without ripping apart of damaging the packaging.

The palette itself has a gorgeous holographic effect, making it look almost icy in appearance. I love this design. It feels sturdy without been heavy and cumbersome so it shouldn’t be annoying to travel with. There’s a protector covering the shades and a decent sized mirror in the lid.

Within this palette you get 7 shades; 6 highlighters and a topper. I already know at least 3 of these are too dark for my skin tone but I can’t help but feel they could go darker to include all. The pans are a decent size and look quite deep so I’m hoping you get a good amount of product.

When doing the swatches on the arm, I found all the highlight powders to be soft and silky. The exception being the topper shade which felt a little gritty and chunky to me. A couple of the lighter shades look more glittery than others but all have an amazing shine.

On the skin, these look so gorgeous. I love the shades MMMM and In Blankets, they are just so blinding with that little bit of glitteryness. These work best with my skin tone although Made It and Baebly offer a softer more natural highlight for me. Although the shades Lifestyle and Bodi-Odi-Odi are too dark for my cheek and brow bone highlights, these look amazing in the inner corners.

These are surprisingly buildable for such a blinding formula. When applied over a powdered base, the smallest dab into the pan will give you a soft and subtle glow. Applying a second layer of highlight will really make it pop. However, if you apply this over your unset base, then you get a blinding glow. Layer it up to go brighter.

Overall, I am so happy with this purchase from BPerfect Cosmetics and I’d be happy to pay full price. I love the design of the packaging and the minimalist nature of it. Of the 7 shades, I can use 4 as my usual highlight and the rest around my eyes so my fear of products not being used is no longer.
