Hi lovelies,
As you can probably tell, I’m on the hunt for a really good concealer so any recommendations drop em in the comments. As with all Jeffree Star products these are cruelty free and vegan as well as been free from fragrance, parabens and talc.

I purchased mine from Beauty Bay (see here) in a sale but you can also grab this from the JSC website (see here) and Beautylish (see here). Full price this retails for £21 and you get 3.5ml of product. You get free UK delivery with Beauty Bay and Beautylish (will have to pay import with BL) but ordering through JSC will cost you a fortune and take forever to arrive.

The concealer comes in a pink outer box with holographic reflects. All product information can be found on the sides of the box with the shade name on the bottom. Tabs within the box hold the concealer in place to protect it during transit. Thankfully, mine arrived safe and whole coz I’ve seen a lot of smashed stars.

Naturally, there is a little bit of the extraness somewhere in the packaging and you’ll find it on the cap. I love the crystal feel of it and it sits nicely in the hand. I’m not 100% on the star, it seems a little fragile and sharp. I love the sleekness of the component. The doe foot applicator is slightly different to most allowing it to hold more product than the standard.

The Magic Star concealer is available in 33 shades; 2 colour correctors, a pure white with 30 skin tones. As much as I appreciate a launch with 30 shades, for me there could be a greater selection of shades for darker skin tones. 10 shades for deep to very deep is not good enough, another 10 would be a start.
I picked up the shade C6 which is slightly too light for me but at this price I’ll deal. Oh, the JSC website does offer returns on concealer to make sure you get your correct shade but only when you buy direct from the website. It does seem a little awkward to do but very few companies offer this and I’m happy that they offer this service. When swatched on the hand, the concealer did oxidate slightly but this is very minimal compared to my other concealers.

This is described on the website as a full coverage concealer that helps even out your skin tone and apparantly has anti-aging properties to reduce fine line and wrinkles. I’m not sure about the anti-aging properties, I sort of feel the marketing department put some words out there but I suppose I’ll see about that in the long term. I will say it does reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes. At least, it does for me as it covers my fine lines well and doesn’t settle in to them.
The concealer offers pretty good coverage and is buildable if you need more in certain areas. You don’t need to use much to get good coverage either, a little goes a long way. It blends out easily with a beauty blender but also works well with your fingertips and a brush. It feels really light on the skin and brightens the undereye nicely.

I’ve found this concealer works well with the majority of powders depending on your technique. When baking, I’ve found that some drugstore powders can look a bit cakey under the eye but this is mostly with the cheaper pressed powders. When using a light dusting of powder to set the base, I didn’t notice any cakiness or creasing. It blended so easily with my foundation and contour for a seamless finish.

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase I just wish I’d matched my shade better. I’ll definitely be getting a darker shade upon repurchasing and I will repurchase. The price is pretty expensive for a concealer but it does last a while as you don’t need to use much. The packaging is typically boujee for JSC but that star on top is sharp and a little fragile. The concealer itself is pigmented, covers blemishes and is easy to blend out. The concealer works well with most products but it can look a bit cakey if you bake with cheaper powders.
