Hi lovelies,
You know I’m always wanting to add to my collection of rainbow palettes. There’s no such thing as too many however if you already have the 42 pan bright matte palette then there’s no need to buy this one. Well unless you need a smaller version for travelling.

You can purchase this from the Beauty Bay website (see here) and it retails for £6.50. Standard UK delivery is £2.95 but is free for orders over £25. Even during the busy periods, I didn’t have to wait long for my order; I think I had it in 3 days. I just wish that Beauty Bay would stop using Hermes coz I have a panic attack everytime they update the order before they’ve delivered. Plus the outer box always arrives looking battered.

The packaging is simple but cute. The unit carton is matte black with satin features and the text in white. All product information can be found on the outer box. The carton has enough room to have a bubble wrap sleeve which offers further protection for your palette when in transit. I love that the outer box and palette have a contrasting colour scheme. You even get a little mirror in the lid. It is also cruelty free and vegan.

As you can tell from the title, this is a 9 pan palette. All mattes. It’s essentially a basic rainbow colour scheme with a white and very pale pink. The pans are a good size and embossed with the Beauty Bay logo. The shade names are written under the pans. The palette itself is the perfect size to hold as a working makeup artist; neither heavy or cumbersome.

When doing the swatches, the shadows felt buttery to touch and swiped so smooth. I only needed one layer to achieve this pigment even with the lightest shades. I’m fairly certain that these shades will be visible on all skin tones especially when used with an eye primer.

On the eye (or undereye it seems) the shadows perform really well. They are pigmented and still relatively easy to blend. That pale pink is the perfect blending shade. The blue and green can be a little bit patchy when applying and blending but it can be fixed with some patience and care. I thought the green would be brighter but adding the yellow changes it completely After 8 hours of wear, none of the shades has ended up creasing which is fricking insane for me-that never happens with my hooded ass eyes.

There is some kickback in the pan and fallout under the eye for all of the shades. I certainly won’t be doing my base before my eyes when using this because that red gets everywhere. There is some staining to the skin when using the red, bright pink and purple shades but it doesn’t last long and can be removed with an oil based cleanser.

Overall, I am so happy with this purchase from Beauty Bay. For the price, it’s brilliant. You’ve got a brightening shade and a blending shade as well as the rainbow. The shadows blend together quite easily to produce a range of colours too. I just wish we could have had a black rather than an orange but it is a brights palette after all. The shades are pigmented and buildable although you do get some fallout under the eye.
