I’ve been digging into my back catalog of Glossybox products that are deserving of a full review. Not going to lie; it’s products like this one that keep me subscribed to them.
The Avant Skincare Gentle Rose Exfoliant is available from the Avant website (see here) as well as from LookFantastic. This retails for £92 for 60ml of product which is fricking heartbreaking (hence why I love GB). You get free UK shipping from Avant and free shipping from LookFantastic on orders over £25. I’m not sure how quickly your order will be dispatched from Avant but an order from LF will be with you within a week.
I’m not sure if my packaging is different because of the subscription box or because they’ve changed it since I received it. The website shows a sleek outer box with the company, product name and main ingredients on the front. The exfoliant comes a little jar (I assume glass). My product came in a tube with the same sleek design as the box. I actually prefer the tube over the jar for an exfoliant just for practicality at the sink. Product ingredients can be found on the back of the tube. This is part of the Age Nutri-Revive range and is cruelty-free and vegan friendly.
The Avant website states that this contains ingredients to help the skin appear smoother and softer as well as to penetrate deeper into the skins surface. Rose has hydrating, smoothing and anti-oxidising properties that aims to lessen redness, skin irritation and the appearance of wrinkles. This also contains Vitamin B5 that is full of skin softening, smoothing and healing properties. It also helps the skin retain moisture. The micro bead formula helps to slough away dead cells to leave you with a radiant glow. It is suitable for all skin types and is free from parabens.
The first thing I’ve got to mention is the fragrance. It has a pretty strong scent of rose for a face wash but I kind of like it surprisingly (I’m not usually a fan of rose). For those with sensitive skin it may not be the best product just for that alone however I didn’t have any issues. The scent goes immediately after rinsing without lingering on the skin. The micro-beads in the formula are quite gentle if you don’t scrub at the skin but again, they may cause you some issues if you have sensitive skin. You don’t need to use much either for a good cleanse. I use a pea sized amount and its the perfect amount for my face.
After use, my skin felt so soft and had a healthy, natural glow. I also noticed a reduction in dry patches that are kept at bay for a few days. I guess that fits with the hydration properties. With regular use, there’s been a vast improvement in my overall skin texture-less acne, dry patches though I can’t say if there’s been an improvement in wrinkles and fine lines. Bare in mind, I only use this 2-3 times a week to prevent over-exfoliation. I’ve not had any problems when using this but again I don’t have sensitive skin. If you experience any issues when using this, stop and seek medical care.
Overall, I absolutely love this exfoliant from Avant but am I prepared to spend £92 on it……no! It’s just too expensive for someone on my budget unfortunately and thank you Glossybox for including this brand. Thankfully, at that price, you don’t need to use much. A pea sized amount is perfect. It leaves you with soft, hydrated and radiant skin as well as improving skin texture over an extended period of use. The scent is quite strong though and may be an irritant to sensitive skin.
