Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask Review

I’ve got another sample product for you today. Thank you Glossybox because I would never have purchased this for myself.

You can purchase the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Masks from the Glow Recipe website (see here-non UK), Cult Beauty (see here) and Amazon (see here*). This is available in 2 different sizes-30ml for £20 or 80ml for £41. So yeah, fairly expensive for a mask but sometimes good skincare is worth it. Glow Recipe aren’t delivering to the UK at the minute but shipping from Cult is pretty quick. You get free shipping on orders over £20.

Naturally receiving a sample does mean different packaging. This came in a little pot colour matched to the rest of the Watermelon collection. The full sized product comes in a jar with a spectrum for scooping out the mask. I love this extra touch for applying a skin care product.

The website describes this as a breathable sleeping mask that smooths and perfects skin overnight. It’s a pillow proof formula made to give you a radiance boost. It contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate, amino acid rich and soothing Watermelon extract and pore refining AHAs to gently exfoliate and clarify your skin. You can use this 2 ways-as a sleeping mask and as a wash off mask. Use a thin layer overnight and wash it off in the morning or use a thick layer for 10 minutes for a quick boost to the skin.

The product itself is quite gel like and is best applied with a spatula. It’s pretty easy to apply and a little goes a long way as you don’t want to rub it into the skin. It took a minute to tap it into the skin and it left a residue behind which remained until the following morning. So definitely pillow proof. As it’s a overnight mask I don’t mind the residue because it’s clear that you need to wash it off. There was a slight watermelon scent to it but it was minimal and didn’t linger. Plus it felt really cool and soothing on the skin upon application.

I was pretty impressed with this one if I’m honest. When I washed it off my skin looked so much better than the previous night. I had a healthy, natural glow and my skin felt soft. There was no greasiness at all remaining. My skin looked clearer with a more even tone and less visible pores. To be honest when used as a ten minute mask it is just as effective.

I’ve not had any issues when using this mask. I’ve not seen an increase in breakouts, in fact it seems to keep them under control. If you are having any issues please stop using immediately and seek medical advise.

Overall, despite been dubious at first I am really happy with the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. Gutted I’ve only got a sample size because I will be using this regularly. The packaging looks like what you’d want from a mid-priced skin care range. The mask itself is awesome. Does exactly what it says on the bottle which is rare. I saw immediate results which is even rarer for me.
