Moroccanoil Original Treatment Hair Oil Review

Hi lovelies,

Got a little hair treat for you today. I’ve been playing with this one for over a year now and I still have a decent amount in the bottle.

The Moroccanoil Original Treatment is available to purchase from the company website (see here) as well as LookFantastic (here) and Amazon (here). The full size bottle contains 100ml of oil and retails for £32.86 although there’s also a 25ml bottle for £14 if you don’t want to commit. You get free UK shipping on orders over £20 with Moroccanoil and over £25 with LookFantastic. I’m not sure how fast shipping is from the company website but LF will take about a week and Amazon has it on Prime.

The packaging although simple is pretty eye catching with its bright colours. Wish I had the bigger bottle to show you. You’ve got text on the front and back with all product information including the ingredients. The oil comes in a bottle with a screw cap but thankfully there is a dispenser pump in the box to attach. The smaller bottle only has the cap which can be slightly awkward when you have oil on your hands.

The website describes this as a transformative hair treatment that set the world onto argan oil infused hair care. It can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool to leave you with nourished, manageable and smooth hair. It contains argan oil and linseed extract to boost shine, speed up drying time and detangle your locks. Directions of use advise one or two pumps on clean, towel dried hair and apply from mid length to the ends. From here blow dry and style as liked or leave it to dry naturally. You can also use a pump on dry hair to tame the ends.

End of the day

The oil has quite a thin formula so it does move easily. Be careful when it’s on your hands as it moves freely. I tend to use this mostly when my hair is damp and it works fairly well. My hair looks shinier and is less prone to tangling. It also is a lot sleeker towards the ends rather than frizzy craziness that can happen and I don’t use heat tools at all. It doesn’t make my hair feel or look greasy after use and is fairly easy to apply. Using it on damp hair doesn’t completely control frizz all day but a small amount on dry hair can make it sleeker for longer.

Freshly applied

Overall, I am pretty happy with this treatment from Moroccanoil. My hair has never looked better despite terrible split ends. It really has helped my hair be more manageable and less tangle prone when I’m working. It doesn’t last all day unfortunately but it can be used on dry hair to tame that frizz. A little goes a long way too so you won’t have to purchase this that often.
