Hi lovelies,
Looks like my love for highlighter is hitting new heights. Can’t get enough of them right now.

The BH Cosmetics Spotlight and Highlight palette can be purchased from the company website (see here) as well as from Beauty Bay (see here). It retails for £14 although I think it’s currently on sale on Beauty Bay. Having never shopped direct from BH Cosmetics, I have no idea what their shipping is like. If you do let us know in the comments. You get free UK delivery on orders over £25 and they ship within a few days.

The packaging has a fairly simple design. You’ve got holographic text against a white background. It doesn’t stand out the way it should but the text shine still catches your eye. The palette name is also embossed onto the background in satin grey text which is only visible when the light hits it. All other product information including the ingredients can be found on the back. The palette is a good size and weight with a strong magnet keeping the lid secure. The pans are fairly huge but I wish they had names for identification purposes.

According to the product description, this 6 pan palette contains shades to give all skin tones a healthy glow. Naturally I can’t wear every shade so I’m hoping I can use the darker ones around my eyes. You should be able to build and blend each shade individually or layer them together for a unique colour. When doing the swatches, all the shades felt soft and buttery. There is a clear difference in colour between the shades which I love but is often hard to catch in photos.

On the face, all of the shades look amazing and perform well. However, I’m not sure you can say this is great for all skin tones particularly those with darker complexions. The darkest shade wasn’t overly dark on my pale ass skin which isn’t a good sign. Either do better in one palette or bring out two because this one is definitely suited for light to medium complexions. In fact, the first shade on the bottom row is too light for me and has a pale cast when out of the light. All the shades are easy to apply and blend into the skin without drawing too much attention to skin texture. They can add a soft, gentle glow to your skin or can be built up for an intense shine. They are pigmented even when used lightly.
Overall, I am pretty happy with the BH Cosmetics Spotlight and Highlight palette. The packaging is simple yet cute with a good weight and decent sized pans. The shades are stunning and pigmented but I wish the shade range was more inclusive. The shimmers are easy to apply and blend without highlighting skin texture. They can be applied lightly for a soft glow or can be built up for a more intense look.
