KVD Vegan Beauty Mini Tattoo Liner Review

Hi lovelies,

We have another item from the Boots Best in Beauty box. Sorry I’ve not had much time to test items recently. Hopefully I can settle into this years rhythm fairly quickly.

The KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner is available to buy from the company website (see here) as well as from Boots (here) and Feel Unique (here). There is a mini available (RRP £11, which is this) and the full sized retails for £19. Both items are cruelty free and vegan.

Both the mini and full sized products are pretty much packaged in the same way. The full size liner comes with an outer box containing all product information. Not sure if the mini has one…mine didn’t but I don’t like to assume from a beauty box. The tattoo liner is a liquid liner in pen form with an ultra fine brush tip. It has a tight fitting cap that hopefully will stop your liner drying up. One thing though, everything is still branded as Kat Von D Beauty rather than KVD Vegan Beauty. So is this old stock or have they not bothered changing the packaging? Kinda worrisome.

Anywho. According to the website description, this is a long-lasting, smudge-proof waterproof liner with tattoo potent pigment. The brush allows for precision application for creating graphic lines, winged liner, body art, faux freckles etc. Always remember to shake well before use to keep the ink flowing smoothly. As an Allure award winning product I expect a lot for this.

To be completely honest with you, I’m really quite unimpressed by this eyeliner. I really struggled to get the product to flow through the brush particularly on my second eye. It ended up looking quite opaque too. On top of eyeshadow, the pigment seems to look better but alone you’ll have to apply a few layers for deep liner. Its not smudge-proof at all and can be moved with a finger although it doesn’t crack or feel uncomfortable to wear. On a positive note, the brush tip does allow for precision and easy application.

Overall, I’m not blown away by the KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner. The old packaging does concern me a little bit making me unsure whether this is new or old stock. Not a great thought for eyeliner really. Although the tip made application easy, I struggled to get the product to flow and the pigment was kind of opaque. I needed a couple of layers to get solid, consistent pigment. Neither was it smudge proof.

Thanks for reading. Have this eyeliner…send us your images and looks for a social media feature. Don’t forget to hit that like, follow or leave us a comment. Maybe even join our email list if you loved it.
