Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper Gloss Review

So this isn’t a product I would buy for myself because I actually really love my lips. However I got this as part of the Boots Beauty Showstopper Box.

The Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper is available from the Too Faced website (see here) as well as from Boots (here) and Cult Beauty (here). This is available in 2 sizes: a 2.8g mini for £12 and a 4g tube for £22. I received the mini. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £25 with both Boots and Cult Beauty and on orders over £40 with Too Faced.

The packaging is the industry standard for lip products. There is a difference in the outer packaging between the mini and the full size item. Basically there’s an extended piece of card on the back of the mini containing customer survey information. Other than that the box is standard but with a soft touch finish coloured to match the shade inside. All product information can be found around the sides of the box. The tube itself is plastic with a doe foot applicator.

This is available in 5 shades that are complimentary for all skin tones. I received the original one which is clear with an iridescent shimmer. According to the online description, the glossy tinted formula naturally hydrate, nourishes and increases lip volume. This should deliver immediate and long term plumping effects setting it apart from other plumpers. It can be worn alone or one top of other products. A note on the packaging warns of an intense tingle for 5-10 minutes after application.

Ok so I’ve heard a lot of good things about this product but I’m quite underwhelmed by it. The plumping gloss is easy to apply and leaves my lips feeling soft and hydrated. It’s neither too sticky or too oily but sits nicely between the two states and has sweet candy scent. It has a subtle shimmer to it that adds a little something even when wearing alone. I did get a pretty intense tingle and slight numbing for around 10 minutes after application but that’s it. No plumping effect whatsoever.

Overall, I am really disappointed in the Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper from Too Faced Cosmetics. Although the packaging has a pretty design there’s nothing special about it. Just the industry standard doe foot applicator. The formula is easy to apply and has a great consistency-not too sticky or oily. It adds a subtle but lovely shimmer no matter how you wear it and it leaves your lips feeling soft. Despite delivering an intense tingling, there was no plumping so might as well save your money. It does smell good though.
