Another affordable brand for you today with a great monochromatic theme.
The Ghost Pepper palette is available to purchase from Beauty Bay (here) and retails for £15. You qualify for free UK delivery on orders over £25 otherwise it’s £2.95. Your order will be delivered within a couple of days.
The packaging is pretty standard for an eyeshadow palette particularly one of this size. There’s a matte black case with the collection name in satin black as a background design. Most of the text is red and all product details including the ingredients can be found on the back. The palette is well made and sturdy though it doesn’t have a mirror in the lid. Not that I mind.
This is a 9 pan palette containing 3 mattes and 6 shimmer shadows. It features a colour story of pink and red which I love. It’s really cohesive and despite only having 3 mattes offers some versatility with the shimmers. The pans are fairly large for the price and the shade names are perfectly matched to the theme.
When doing the swatches, all of the shadows felt soft and silky to touch. They are highly pigmented and only needed a single layer to create a smooth, even swatch.
On the eye, the shadows were really easy to work with. Though highly pigmented, the formula remains easy to apply and blend. You do lose some pigment during the blending process but the shades can be built up to produce intense colour. The shimmers are same; buildable, blendable, pigmented as well as packed with reflects. They are easy to apply with both a brush or finger.
The shimmers lasted at least 6 hours before they even started to crease. There was some kickback in the pan and fallout under the eye for most of the shades but that’s not a huge issue for me. There was a small amount of staining with a couple of the darker shades but it wasn’t really noticeable and went quickly.
Overall, I’m so happy with the Ghost Pepper Palette from BH Cosmetics. The packaging is fairly standard but well made and sturdy. The colour story is cute and cohesive
