Makeup Revolution Caramel Apple Mini Pout Bomb Lip Gloss Set Review

Hi lovelies,

I finally grabbed some new lip glosses. Not going to lie, I thought I’d bought lipsticks but I clearly didn’t read anything properly…This set is cruelty free.

The Caramel Apple Mini Pout Gloss Set is available from the Revolution Beauty website (see here). You get 3X 2.2ml of product and the set retails for £10. You qualify for free UK delivery on orders over £30 but standard delivery is £2.99. It can take a few days for your order to be dispatched but it will arrive in 3 days after that.

The packaging is minimalistic and similar to other Makeup Revolution products. It has a pink and gold outer box that contains all product information including the ingredient on the back. There’s a plastic holder inside keeping the glosses from rattling around. The glosses come in hard plastic tubes with doe foot applicators very similar to liquid lipstick packaging. The tube is secure, well made and surprising heavy for a mini. They’re the perfect size for putting into your bag. The doe foot applicators are a good shape but I wish they were a little bigger for product distribution.

As mentioned above, you get three shades in this pack and 2 of them are new. Doll is a soft nude brown and is the only one available individually. Bestie is a peach based nude and Lover is a deep red. According to the product description these have a caramel apple scent. Another thing I didn’t realise when purchasing….the pout bomb glosses are lip plumpers. They should give you a slight tingle for maximum effect. They are enriched with Vitamin E for extra nourishment, these will leave you with a richly pigmented, high shine finish that is non-sticky.

Doll

The first thing I noticed was the scent. It wasn’t lying on the box. All three have a gorgeous caramel apple scent that isn’t too overpowering and doesn’t linger for long. When swatched on the arm, the glosses looked highly pigmented but not sure how the lighter shades will look on the lips. The formula is quite thick which makes it awkward to apply. It doesn’t glide on easily but it’s not difficult or messy. Sorry I’m struggling to put it into words. But yeah, awkward. The formula has a high shine finish without feeling overly greasy. It’s not ridiculously sticky either but it does transfer.

Bestie

They do cause a tingle and add a little plump to your lips. Its not painful like some plumping products can be but it is noticeable and slightly uncomfortable. It doesn’t last longer than a couple of minutes though. Of the three shades, I love two not sure about the other. The lightest one, Doll is a little too light for me to wear alone but tones down dark lipstick really well. Bestie, the middle shade is my perfect nude gloss. It matches my natural lip colour perfectly. Lover is the stand out shade with a rich, deep colour. The glosses can look streaky when worn alone but this goes with a lipstick underneath.

Lover

Overall, I’m fairly happy with the Caramel Apple Gloss Set from Makeup Revolution. They smell so gorgeous that I want more. The packaging is well made and secure plus being minis makes them perfect for on the go. The formula is thick making it awkward to apply but it it leaves you with a glossy, non sticky finish. They are pigmented too but not keen on all the shades unfortunately. However, it is a great range for those who want a mix of shades.
