Hi lovelies,
I’m sorry for the recent Makeup Revolution deluge but this collaboration is selling fast so no time like the present.

You can purchase the Its Showtime palette from the Makeup Revolution website (here) as well as from Superdrug and Beauty Bay. It retails for £12. You qualify for free UK delivery on orders over £30 with Makeup Revolution; on orders over £25 with Beauty Bay and Supedrug. Beauty Bay generally has the quickest dispatch but all three will deliver in a week.

The packaging is pretty cool and I love its design. Both the outer box and palette feature the black and white striped suit design with beetle details. The box has a matte finish and contains all product information including the ingredients list on the back. There’s only basic information on the back of the palette but there’s more character based details on the inside that I love. The cover has two doors the open in the center so there’s no mirror with this one…not that its an issue. I really do love it but it’s smaller than I thought it would be.

This is a 16 pan palette featuring 5 mattes and 11 shimmers of varying textures. A couple are lightly speckled with reflective particles, some full of them while others have a glitter texture and one more metallic. Although I wish there were a couple more matte shades in there, the shade range is actually perfect. It’s possible to create a couple of gradient blends from the mattes but there’s so much variety with the shimmers. The pans are fairly small but their shape makes it easy to get your brushes and fingers into the shadows.

When doing the swatches, the majority of the shadows felt soft and silky. Two of the glitter shades had a slightly rougher texture though and the shade Recently Deceased felt like it was pressed too hard. The mattes have good pigment but needed two layers to produce a smooth, even swatch. For the most part, the shimmers only needed a single layer for a solid swatch. Day O is the only shimmer that needed 2 layers.

On the eye, the shadows perform well. The shadows are fairly pigmented though the loose some vibrancy during the blending process. Thankfully they can be built up without any patchiness and they are easy to blend. The shimmers are so easy to apply with plenty of pigment and shine. Some shades are really eye-catching especially when paired with the mattes but all look stunning.
There is a small amount of kickback in the pan for the majority of shades but minimal fallout under the eye. Mostly shimmer particles but even then, it’s minimal. The shimmers last for around 4 hours before they start to crease which isn’t too bad. There wasn’t even any staining with the purple shades.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with the Revolution x Beetlejuice It’s Showtime palette. Absolutely love the packaging and overall design. The shade range is perfect and works well as a whole. Although not the most pigmented, the shadows are easy to build and blend. The shimmers have a range of finishes so some are more eye catching than others but all look good.
