Lottie London Velvet Skin Tint Foundation Review

Hi lovelies,

Be prepared for an influx of Lottie London reviews as I grabbed a massive bundle via a Money Saving Expert discount code. According to MSE and others this is a dupe for the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation. I wouldn’t know coz I don’t own any Dior but if you do let us know in the comments below. This is cruelty free and vegan as well as paraben free.

The Lottie London Velvet Skin Tint Foundation is available from the company website (see here) as well as from Agora World (here*), Look Fantastic (here), ASOS (here). It retails for £9.95 and you get 50ml of product. You qualify for free UK shipping on orders over £20 with Lottie London and on orders over £25 with Look Fantastic. I’m not too sure about shipping with Agora or ASOS but you can often get coupons for free shipping on Tiktok. Orders direct from Lottie London will be with you in about a week.

The packaging is kind of basic but generally adequate. Lottie London is currently switching up it’s packaging so you may find some of their products bare a plastic wrapper and others do not. This is in an effort to become more environmentally friendly although the plastic wrap used is widely recyclable. The skin tint comes in a plastic bottle that has a nozzle top to dispense the product. Not the best I have to admit and kind of wish it had a pump. I’m not sure what happened during the bottling process either as the product did bubble up out of the bottle when initially opened. It kind of went everywhere but thankfully settled down quickly. The cap screws tightly into place and does stop the tint leaking out which is always a bonus.

According to the product description, this is the ultimate barely there veil to achieve a lightweight, soft-focus finish to the skin. It is a blendable, light to medium coverage tint to create a smooth, natural matte canvas without the heavy feel of foundation. It evens out skin tone while letting your natural skin shine through. It is long lasting and contains hyaluronic acid and coconut extract to add moisture to the skin. Now it is only available in 8 shades but they do include a decent range. It’s not 50 shades of white and the deepest shade is quite dark. As this came in a bundle, I had no control over the shade I received which was the warm peach. Unfortunately, it is slightly too dark but that’s not going to stop us as it doesn’t change the quality of the product. When testing it on my hand, the tint barely oxidized at all. Always a positive.

To start with, it doesn’t smell great. Nothing awful but there doesn’t seem to be any fragrance added which is always a good thing. The tint has quite a thin consistency that is easily applied. I recommend applying it with a brush rather than a sponge though as a sponge is just going to soak this up. It’s definitely light to medium coverage but it has decent pigment and evens out skin tone well. It leaves you with a very natural finish to the skin without highlighting skin texture. The tint sits well under other products and doesn’t lift or shift when applying either cream or powder over the top. It sets with a light dusting of powder and lasted hours before settling into the lines of the face. Even then it didn’t settle much. It feels lightweight on the skin and offers some hydration too.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Lottie London Velvet Skin Tint Foundation. For the price, I can’t really fault it. The packaging is a little basic but more than adequate for it’s function. The tint itself is perfect for natural looking finish to the skin. It has enough coverage and pigment to even out skin tone without looking like a mask or highlighting skin texture. It works well with other products and feels lightweight on the skin.
