Hi lovelies,
I’m pretty sure it has been a ridiculously long time since I reviewed any sort of clothing brand despite having fashion written on the homepage so we’re going to rectify that today.
Refuse to Conform Clothing is a small independent business in the UK. The owner, Charlie, does everything from designing, printing and shipping products to promoting the brand online. You can place any orders through their website (see here) but you can find them through their Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Twitter.

The brand is wholly centered around empowering people to be their true selves and promoting mental health awareness. They have a full range of unisex clothing clothing including hoodies, t-shirts, joggers, sweatshirts, shorts and even hats, socks and accessories too. I love that there’s even a range of ultra heavy hoodies for anxiety.

Being a small clothing business, Refuse to Conform operate on a pre-order basis meaning that orders cannot be shipped immediately. They are shipped in batches on or close to a set date. Thankfully this date is made clear in the banner at the top of the page. Mine shipped a little quicker than anticipated which was only a week after placing the order. Free worldwide shipping is available on orders over £250 with my UK shipping coming to £4.95. It arrived within a few days of dispatch.

Onto the actual clothing. Since I struggled to make up my mind over what I wanted most from Refuse to Conform, I ended up purchasing 3 t-shirts and a hoodie. The hoodie was the sole purpose of my online shopping “trip” but I love a good tee. I picked up the OG No Labels Just Humans, the black rainbow signature and the you are bigger than what makes you anxious shirts. Gutted that the last one is no longer available on the site because it’s such an amazing message for people like me. The t-shirts retail for between £26 and £31.

All the shirts are made from organic cotton and they feel really high quality. The designs are transfers but they are flexible and not too big and thick for the shirt. Sometimes transfers can be a little stiff on the fabric but not these. The rainbow signature tee has bright colours and the text on all is crisp. I’ve had these for over 6 months now and there’s no damage to the designs. The shirts fit well but are comfortable to wear without any tightness in certain areas. One thing I really love about these shirts is that most of the designs are on the back so no-one is staring at your chest. Some just have the company logo on the front and some are plain.
One thing I would like to add here…there’s a particular t-shirt design of “just in case no one told you today” flying around that I’m 99.9% certain originated with Refuse to Conform. I always think it’s such a shame when a design is stolen by those who can manufacture it cheaper and I’m so happy to have found the OG.

Onto the hoodie which, again is no longer available in this particular design. I think I landed on the page at the right time for the limited run of the blue tie dye hoodie. They retail for £45 with the ultra heavy retailing between £70 and £73. As with the t shirts, the hoodie feels well made and high quality. The inside is so soft and it’s really comfortable to wear without becoming too warm. I’d definitely recommend looking at the size guide as, although mine is a perfect fit, it is a little more snug than I would usually go for.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my haul from Refuse to Conform clothing and I can’t wait to order more. Every piece has a reason and is there to lift someone up. The message of the brand is amazing and speaks for itself. It then comes with high quality, gorgeous designs and comfort. What more can you ask from clothing….

Your review is so helpful! I’ve been eyeing the ultra-heavy hoodies for a while, and now I’m definitely going to give them a try. The fact that they’re made from organic cotton is a huge bonus. Thanks for sharing your experience
