Nars Bronzing Powder Review

Hi lovelies,

Y’all know I love a good sample item and this one is no exception. Actually Nars has a range of makeup travel minis. This is another one that came with the Boots Beauty Showstopper Box.

Unfortunately I can only find the mini bronzer to purchase from Boots (see here) and Cult Beauty (here). It retails for £17 and contains 3.3g of product. The full size bronzer is available from Nars, Boots, Cult Beauty and Look Fantastic. It retails for £31 and contains 8g of product. All four offer free UK shipping on orders over £25. Orders from Boots, Cult and Look Fantastic will take about a week to arrive.

The packaging is absolutely stunning particularly for a mini. The outer box has a black, soft touch matte finish with copper lettering on the front. The shade name is on the copper side of the box with all other product information including the ingredients on the back. The compact also has a matte, soft touch finish with a clasp to hold the lid closed. Everything feels high quality and is well made. It’s packaged in the same way as the full size item. Why are small things so damn cute.

This is available in 4 shades although there are matte alternatives. I was sent the shade Laguna described as a diffused brown with a gold sheen. I think its the second lightest shade of the four. The diffused bronzing powders have a subtle sheen to create all over warmth as well as to contour, create or enhance tanned skin. Each shade delivers soft, natural looking colour for a sunkissed glow. They’re made using finely milled powder for a smoother, more even looking complexion.

The bronzer is gorgeous. When swatched next to my other two, it looks soft, natural and extremely sparkly. Despite appearances, it is highly pigmented and little is needed to create a gorgeous bronze glow. It’s so soft that it glides on and blends seamlessly with minimal effort. The shimmer isn’t quite so intense once blended onto the cheeks giving you a natural glow.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Nars bronzing powder. For a mini, the packaging is first class, pretty much a smaller version of the full size bronzer and is perfect for popping into your bag. It’s soft, highly pigmented and is easy to apply. It blends like a dream to create a seamless, natural, sunkissed glow.
